Every Australian will benefit from medicines delivered through the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) during their lifetime. In fact, nearly two in three people currently living in Australia are taking at least one PBS medication.

Access to the right medicine – the very best medicine – at the right time is vital. Without it, diseases often progress, quality of life suffers, and lives may be lost.

As Australians, we are incredibly proud of the PBS. For more than 75 years, it has helped millions of people access vital medicines. However, it has not been reviewed in over 30 years, and Australians are now waiting too long for medicines.
